Moving forward into 2025

It has been a busy couple of years for PJB Planning working with existing clients, building on its client base, and having to deal with changes in local and national planning regulations.

There have been many successes, such as the granting of planning permission for various housing schemes, and, also, for one of the largest glamping sites in the UK, at the NEC Birmingham.  The company has taken forward schemes for self-build housing projects and first time buyers  in and around South Cambridgeshire and Home Counties, and, promoted sites through various local plan reviews throughout the east of England and south-east.

These successes don’t however come without their challenges.  Dedication to driving schemes through the planning process has been a major factor to moving projects forward, but also understanding views expressed by local planning authorities and communicating this through to clients has helped to achieve breakthroughs where there may have been a stalemate.

More recently of particular interest to SME clients has been the submission of Permission in Principle (PiP) applications.  This helps establish the principle of development, at a fraction of the cost of an outline or full planning application.  That is not to say that the PiP approach comes without its own challenges or shortcomings if it was to be refused, but it is a form of application that PJB Planning is finding clients considering to pursue at the initial stage of the process.

Please contact PJB Planning if you would like to know more about obtaining planning permission for the self-build housing, first time buyer schemes, glamping or the PiP process, or, any advice on other planning related matters.
